Honeycomb is Blocking

So, I pinned the vest down for blocking last night. The night before I finished the front and had to redo the back because I had done the decreases incorrectly along the neckline. I didn't even notice it until I was getting ready to three-needle bindoff the shoulders together. I must have really been deeply involved in Dancing With the Stars to not have noticed that error because it was so obvious! You can't really tell in this photo, but there should be a slight U-shaped scoop on the back with the straps on the same edges as the armholes. Luckily, the fix wasn't too complicated.

Honeycomb

I started a vest last night. I had a bunch of yarn I got on sale from Fabric Depot. Originally, I had wanted to make this Badia vest from Berroco, but I decided to look through patterns from Knitty and remembered that I had always wanted to make Honeycomb from last spring's issue. I love the texture created from the stitch pattern.

Let It Snow

The weather here has been crazy cold since the weekend with some snow off and on. I don't have any big projects lined up, but I did find some socks and scarves that I want to knit. I have some leftover mohair from the slouchy hat, so I thought I'd knit up this Wisp scarf from the 2007 summer edition of Knitty. I don't think I have enough yarn, so I'll be making some modifications to the pattern. I'll also be on the lookout for a fun sweater project to start during some vacation time next week.

Another Cardigan on the Horizon

I've decided on my next knitting project. It's the Avast men's cardigan from the fall 2006 issue of Knitty. It's a nice raglan-sleeved zip-up sweater with a subtle cable design at the hem. The sweater is for B and will replace a holey, ratty cardigan that he constantly wears now. I am going to use some Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride in a super dark navy called Bulldog Blue.
