Finished Projects

Here's one of the felted Tyrolean stockings. They turned out really nice and keep my feet very cozy and very warm. I also decided to make the Snowball Hat, which is also in the fall issue of Interweave Knits. I had some Lion Brand Kool Wool left over in my stash and used that to knit up the hat is a couple of hours. As the weather is suddenly getting cooler, it's the perfect time for hats and wool socks.

One Down

I was able to finish one of the stockings this weekend. This photo is before putting it through the wash. I forgot to lengthen the foot a bit more, but hopefully, it won't shrink up that much. Once I got the chart pattern memorized, the knitting started to fly by.

Half Stocking

So far, so good on the sock. It's knitting up quickly and I can't wait to actually throw them in the washer to get the fabric a bit softer.

Vested for Fall

So, I finished the vest yesterday afternoon. I made the smallest size, so it is a close fit, but not uncomfortably so. I did make it about two inches shorter in length and I opted not to add the belt loops since I thought I would probably wear it more without the belt. The only thing I don't like is how the yarn sheds so much.

I went to the Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival in Canby with Mariko and Hedi yesterday morning. It was really fun. I liked seeing all the animals, including sheep, llamas, and goats. I bought this purple Lynx sock yarn from Angora Valley Fibers for the Tyrolean Stockings, another pattern from the latest Interweave Knits. I'm making the socks a little bit larger because the yarn is supposed to full up a bit and result in a nice soft fabric.
