Asymmetrical Fold Skirt

I finished my asymmetrical fold skirt yesterday afternoon. I think it turned out great and I love the contrast between the denim and the Coriander fabric. Just a heads up if you're going to make this skirt–the pattern pieces for the skirt facing are shorter for the left and right sides than the actual skirt. Make sure you measure and make adjustments before cutting out the facing pieces.

Time for a Skirt

I spent a lot of time at Bolt yesterday afternoon trying to find some good prints for this skirt featured on the cover of Stitch Magazine. It was difficult to find fabric with the color scheme that I wanted for fall and winter. Most things seemed to fall in the pastel range. So, then I decided to go for denim with Alexander Henry Coriander as my contrasting fabric. I'll start this project as soon as the fabric is out of the dryer.

Cozy Cowl

Here's quick project I whipped up in a couple of days. I had a skein of Misti Alpaca from Mariko and it was so soft that I thought it would be perfect for a cowl. I cast on 60 stitches and knit in the round using 1 x 1 rib until the yarn ran out.

Autumn Equinox Vest is Done!

I finished sewing in the zipper last night. I was going to use my machine, but I thought I would have more control if I hand sewed it in. I'm still debating whether or not to add some sort of tape or binding to hide those hand stitches. I love this vest! It's cozy and adds just the right amount of extra warmth. The pattern was easy to follow and I made no modifications to it. I'll get a lot of wear out of this garment this winter.

Rainy Day Project

I had been coveting a fedora from Anthropologie a while back (it's now out of stock and no longer on their website), but at $48, I thought it was a bit expensive. I found this cheaper alternative at Charlotte Russe, which was a steal for only $15! However, I didn't like the striped ribbon, so I replaced it with some Amy Butler fabric from my stash. The fabric flower is from the Amy Butler Anna Tunic pattern. Below is the before and after.

It's Almost Done!

I finished knitting the armhole and neckline edging tonight. Now I just have to weave in all the ends and decide on what color zipper I want. I'm leaning towards red.

Progress

I made a lot of progress on the vest while I was on the train to and from Seattle last week. I had a good three and half hours each way to work on this project. I'm almost ready to start the armholes.

Mad About More Plaid

I sewed this dress up during the afternoon and finished hemming it after dinner. The pattern is from the Everyday Japanese craft book.
