Stuff I Bought

Payday

I'm waiting until payday to buy yarn for my next project, which I am pretty sure will be the baseball sweater with the number 3 on back from Rebecca 22. I also am doing some refinishing. I finally added the double crochet to the Star top. It looks good. And it's only on the bottom hem, and not the slanted edge like I thought. I am also going to sew on different buttons on the Dot top. I used baby buttons and they keep popping undone. We can't have that!

What Next?

Hmmm...haven't quite decided what my next project will be. Since I've been working on so many tank tops, I'm thinking something with three-quarter length raglan sleeves, using either Cotton-Ease or All Seasons cotton. It'll be fun looking through patterns!

Quick and Easy Project

Sorry for the bad quality of this picture. Here's the finished Star top. I started working on it during yesterday's SnB and then completed it up at home. It fits perfectly! I am supposed to add some crochet trim, using crab stitch, to the slanted edging and the bottom, but I sorta like it plain. I'll have to test out the crab stitch and see if it works.

Finishing Line

I completed the front of the tank last night and blocked it. I am ready to sew up the sides. I'll save that for SnB on Sunday afternoon. Pictures to follow...

Back is Done

I finished the back of the Star tank last night. It went pretty quickly. It's blocking now and I should be able to cast on for the front later today. I really like how the fabric turned out, with its interesting texture. It's just what I wanted!

Serenity Swatch

A New Summer Project

Here's my new project. It's the Star top from the Adriafil Magazine. My LYS doesn't carry Prestige, the recommended yarn, so I looked and looked for something that struck my fancy. I wanted something with variegated colors or a cool texture. I settled upon Reynolds Serenity in black. It's 100% cotton, but it's got this great nubbly texture that creates a fabulous fabric when knitted up. I'm going to start swatching tonight during Survivor!

Done!

I'm happy with how this turned out. With the buttons on the back I had to do some creative spacing, but at least it's symmetrical. Now I just need some warm weather!

Close But No Cigar...

I was ready to sew on the buttons Friday afternoon, but noticed that the button bands on each half were of different tensions, so the dots on the edges weren't matching up exactly. This morning, I frogged the tighter band and will redo it this afternoon at lunchtime. This project should be an FO by tomorrow...

Cramped Up

So, picking up and knitting 344 stitches on size one needles with string really cramps up my fingers. The stitches were so tiny that I couldn't just get the needle to pick them up. I didn't have a tiny crochet hook, so had to fahion one out of a paper clip. It worked pretty well. All that work was for the edging and straps of the tank. All that's left are the button bands and actually sewing on the buttons. Could this project really be finished during the weekend? I hope so!
