"The Microflat is a new housing design concept in London. It's a small living space intended for young urban types; as a gimmicky promotion, two people will live in Microflats within a department store." [via metafilter]

Lay doesn't appear to have financial troubles So did wife Linda fake her teary appearance on the Today show, saying she and her former Enron CEO husband are bankrupt? What's the real story??!!

My newest craving: The Minolta Dimage X. I want to start posting pictures of my knitted and sewn items! I also just want to have a good digital camera, as opposed to a crappy one.

I have been working on this seed stitch sweater from Rebecca Magazine for months and months and months now. I had finished the back and was stuck on the front for awhile before finally finishing that a couple of days ago. That motivated me because now I am on the first sleeve, which should go quickly. I am also in the process of blocking the back piece. Hopefully, I will be done by next week and will be able to wear my cozy new sweater while the weather is still winter-like! On the list of next projects is another sweater, another felted handbag, a pillow, and maybe some baby stuff.

It finally snowed for the first time this winter! On Saturday. Unfortunately, all the snow in the city melted away by Sunday morning. I have to finish that seed stitch sweater. I am almost done with the front, but then I need to start the sleeves and block it, then sew it all together. If I don't finish it soon, it will be spring and I won't be able to wear it at all!

I saw Vanilla Sky over the weekend. I hated it. The dialogue was silly, especially lines from Penelope Cruz, and the whole Tom Cruise wearing a mask thing was just too much for me.

Yuck! I think I have a mild case of the flu. I started coming down with it yesterday at lunchtime. I'm at work right now, but will go home soon. Apparently, this flu thing hit everyone who wasn't already sick on Saturday night when two kids who were sick were at this party. One kid had his hands in some of the food. I hate the flu. Here's a tip for parents of young children who touch everything and lick remote controls and phones: Do not bring your semi-sick child to any party!

Unfortunately, that e-mail going around about the anchor/weatherman/eight inches thing was just an urban legend. [via dan says]

Well, the new year was anti-climactic for me, as usual. However, and most importantly, it was spent with family and friends. The only resolution I have is to try harder and put more effort into everything that I do, including work, hobbies, relationships, etc.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. My new year was a little anti-climactic, as always, but most importantly, I had a great time with family and friends. My only resolution is to try harder and put more effort into everything I do, including work, hobbies, relationships, etc.
