I just finished jury duty this morning. I was scheduled to go in yesterday and actually got on a trial as part of a six-member jury! It was a graffiti case. The closing arguments were presented yesterday at 4 p.m. and we deliberated for an hour. We couldn't come to any unanimous decisions so we had to go back in again this morning. I had never done jury duty before and it was rather interesting. In Portland, your service is only for one day unless the trial you are selected for goes longer. You aren't on call like in some cities. At least I didn't have to sit around in the waiting room all day. But just in case, I had some knitting ready!
